A group of development research communications professionals who form part of the EADI RComms Working Group recently got together in Bonn, where we had engaging discussions about what's happened in the field in the past few years, where we stand, and how we can plan for the time to come. The discussion on recent developments in social media and how these affect our practice are captured in a blog article I wrote for EADi's blog. You can read the article here

I recently offered a workshop on academic blogging as part of the recent Development Dialogue conference by and for PhD researchers, hosted at the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam. I am mentoring participants of the workshop in writing academic blog articles on their conference presentations or conference proceedings. Read more about the workshop here

A journal article titled 'A review of the (potential) implications of climate change for policing practice worldwide,' published in Policing: A Journal of Policy and Practice, is the outcome of a prospecting research project I assisted in carrying out for Anna Matczak and Sylvia I. Bergh of The Hague University of Applied Sciences (De Haagse Hogeschool). My tasks as research assistant for the project included research on the links between climate change and policing practice, co-organising two workshops with relevant stakeholders, and producing communications materials supporting these.
